The Golden State Warriors tip off their season Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs at Oracle Arena in Oakland (10:30 p.m. ET). Here are a few interesting nuggets heading into the matchup:
Kevin Durant will make his Warriors debut; Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all lost in their regular-season home debuts with the Warriors.
Durant has scored at least 20 points in 64 consecutive regular-season games (longest streak since Michael Jordan's 69 straight games in 1990-91).
Curry scored 40 points and made five 3-pointers in the season opener last year against the Pelicans.
Curry and Durant are the last two NBA players with 40-point games in season openers (Curry last year, Durant in 2013). The only player over the past 50 years with multiple 40-point games in season openers is Michael Jordan, who did it three times.
Green tallied 13 triple-doubles last season; the last player with a triple-double in a season opener was Jason Kidd to begin the 2006-07 season.
The Warriors have won four straight season openers, one shy of tying the longest such streak in franchise history (they won five straight from 1950-54).
