The news of DeMarcus Cousins being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday came as a shock to pretty much anyone who follows the NBA.
Cousins made a heartfelt speech after the trade, making it clear that he will miss Sacramento and the fan base he has built there. While Kings fans are probably busy mourning the loss of their star player, the city of New Orleans is wasting no time in rolling out the welcome wagon for the three-time All-Star.

A billboard featuring Cousins in a Pelicans uniform has gone up on the side of the Smoothie King Center, which is soon to become Boogie's new home court.
His first home game as a Pelican will be on Thursday, when New Orleans takes on Houston.
