Adelaide 36ers' Deng Acuoth will miss the opening game of the NBL season after he was suspended for betting on NBL games.
While not under contract with any NBL team at the time, Acuoth was prohibited from gambling on the league due to his involvement in the NBL1 competition.
A Basketball Australia tribunal handed Acuoth a 10-game ban and $2,300 fine, with nine of the matches suspended subject to additional breaches.
He will free to play in Adelaide's NBLxNBA matches against Phoenix Suns and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Round 1 of the NBL season tips off this Saturday.
