7. Doug Brien's Two Big Misses

As this list demonstrates, football can be cruel. And in the 2004 divisional playoff against the Steelers, the game's evil eye turned its attention to Jets kicker Doug Brien. With the scored tied and 2:02 remaining, one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history hits the upright on a 47-yard attempt that would have given the Jets a 20-17 advantage. But his nightmare is only beginning. On the very next play, the Steelers throw an interception, which sets up another potential game-winning boot, this time from 43 yards away. Brien misses again, and the Jets lose in overtime.
