Standing on the sidelines for Bubby Brister's shovel pass to infamy and many other Jets disasters, coach Rich Kotite was always the wrong guy for Gang Green. Hired after then-owner Leon Hess dismissed -- wait for it -- Pete Carroll as head coach, Kotite was also bestowed the title of general manager. He was good at neither and crashed the Jets to a 4-28 record -- the worst in the league -- over his inglorious two years in charge.
