Spin: Johnson caught two of three passes for 35 yards during the Giants' 27-27 tie against the Commanders in Week 5, but he may have tweaked his neck at some point during the game. He would avoid an injury tag for Sunday's contest against the Saints if he can log a full practice in one of the next two days.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson was a solid find by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, but he's headed for a reduced role this season following New York's signing of Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers' return to health. The change comes after Johnson ranked top 12 among tight ends in both snaps and routes, but 23rd in catches and 19th in yards last season. Johnson was busy near the goal line (seven end zone targets), but struggled with drops (tight end-high nine), which led to a poor 63% catch rate. Johnson finished 23rd in fantasy PPG and now may be lucky to see a target or two per game. He's well off the fantasy radar.
