Spin: Jarry drew the start to begin the preseason and defended the crease for two periods before being replaced by Matt Tomkins. Jarry conceded a first-period goal but was perfect the rest of the way, which should help his case as he competes with Devon Levi for the No. 1 goaltending job ahead of the 2026-27 regular season.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Jarry split last season between Pittsburgh, where he was pretty good (9-3-1, 2.66 GAA, .909 save percentage), and Edmonton, where he was awful (9-6-2, 3.86 GAA, .858 save percentage). His numbers have gone in the wrong direction four straight years and it's difficult to believe he is suddenly going to be able to turn things around at age 31. The good news for Jarry is that the only thing standing between him and significant playing time this coming season is 37-year-old Frederik Andersen, one of the NHL's most injury-prone goaltenders. There's a non-zero chance Jarry could carve out fantasy value in 2026-27.
