News: 5 days agoFiala (lower leg fracture) is at least three weeks away from being ready to play, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports Thursday.

Spin: Fiala is slated to begin skating on his own next week, so he is making progress. He hasn't played since suffering the injury during the 2026 Winter Olympics. Fiala is expected to serve in a top-six capacity and will likely also be part of the first power-play unit once he's healthy.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Fiala fractured his leg playing for Switzerland at the Olympics in February, ending his season. He had played in all 56 games for Los Angeles prior to the break, managing 18 goals and 40 points. Fiala's scoring numbers have fluctuated year-to-year, but one thing that has remained steady is his production with the man advantage. He had 17 power-play points in limited time last season and now has 72 points a man up over the past three years combined. The Kings aren't an offense we really want to be investing in from a fantasy standpoint, but Fiala's role is secure at age 30, meaning he should return mid-round value once again assuming he's fully recovered from his injury for the start of the season. That is tentatively expected to be the case.
