News: 8 hours agoChabot (personal) rejoined the Senators for Wednesday's morning skate, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Spin: Chabot missed Monday's preseason opener to be with his wife as they get ready to welcome the birth of their first child. He had seven goals, 31 points, 22 PIM, 36 hits and 111 blocks in 57 regular-season appearances with Ottawa in 2025-26. He's expected to serve in a top-four capacity again this campaign.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The injury bug bit Chabot in a major way for the second time in the past three seasons, limiting him to just 57 games. His production when healthy -- 7 goals, 31 points -- was right in line with what we've seen in recent years. There was a time early in his NHL career when Chabot would lead the NHL in ice time, but the emergence of Jake Sanderson as Ottawa's No. 1 defender has halted that in a major way. Chabot averaged 22:35 per game last season, his lowest mark since his 2017-18 rookie campaign. Toss in middling hit/blocked-shot totals for a rearguard and the fact Chabot is limited to second power-play duties and you have nothing more than a depth fantasy option on your hands.
