ESPN Fantasy Projection: Chychrun has been a quality NHL defenseman for years, but he took things to an entirely new level this past season. His 26 goals led all NHL rearguards. He also set new career-best marks in assists (34), points (60), shots on goal (221), and power-play points (18 in 80 games). Chychrun had to share time with John Carlson on Washington's top power-play unit in his first year-plus with the club, but once Carlson was dealt to Anaheim in March, Chychrun's opportunities went through the roof. He has now posted 20-plus goals in back-to-back years and is primed to once again serve as a No. 1 fantasy defender in 2026-27.
