News: 5 days agoThe Kings announced Thursday that Zuccarello is dealing with a minor shoulder injury but should be healthy at some point next week, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Spin: While Zuccarello is limited to begin training camp and could miss some preseason action, it seems unlikely that his injury will impact his availability for the start of the regular season. The 39-year-old appeared in 59 regular-season games with the Wild last year and recorded 15 goals, 39 assists, 26 blocked shots, 20 PIM and 16 hits while averaging 18:39 of ice time.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Injuries limited Zuccarello to just 59 games a season ago, but he still managed to have one of his most productive years to date. The Norwegian racked up 15 goals and 54 points, including 21 with the man advantage. He wanted to return to Minnesota but the Wild ended up going in a different direction, so Zuccarello inked a one-year, bonus-laden contract with the Kings in free agency. Betting on a frequently banged up 39-year-old is risky business, but Zuccarello can still clearly play and he's a lock to see key minutes with his new club, health permitting. He's a sneaky mid-round upside option in drafts this fall.
