Super-sub Adelakun pegs back City
Scunthorpe's teenage substitute Hakeeb Adelakun snatched a deserved point for his side with a stoppage-time goal in a 1-1 draw at Bradford. There were fewer than two minutes of the four minutes of stoppage time West Midlands referee Philip Gibbs had added on when a long diagonal ball found Adelakun unmarked on the right and his angled shot sneaked in at the far post.Bradford went in front after 32 minutes with a goal from defender Rory McArdle. Billy Clarke crossed for Filipe Morais, whose shot was blocked and Jon Stead played the ball back for McArdle to score from the edge of the penalty area.Scunthorpe twice had the ball in the net through defender Miguel Llera in the 22nd minute and striker Paddy Madden in the 70th minute only to have the efforts disallowed.Bradford, unbeaten in seven matches, had former England youth goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, on loan from Sunderland, to thank for superb saves from Richard Brindley, Luke Williams, Gary McSheffrey and Madden to deny the visitors, who have lost only once in their last 12 matches.
