Swindon v Chesterfield
Swift pulls strings for Robins
On-loan Chelsea midfielder John Swift inspired Swindon to a 3-1 win over Chesterfield.Jack Stephens gave Swindon a 17th-minute lead with a deft header from Harry Toffolo's cross. But three minutes later skipper Nathan Thompson was caught in possession by Armand Gnanduillet, who teed up Sam Clucas for a fine curler. The Robins restored their lead through a fine individual goal from Swift, who turned away from three defenders before burying his effort from eight yards.Chesterfield thought they had levelled when Jimmy Ryan met Gary Roberts' free-kick with a thumping volley which cannoned downwards off the underside of the crossbar, but the referee's assistant ruled the ball had not crossed the line.Swift was instrumental as Swindon stretched their lead two minutes into the second half. As the Robins repelled a Chesterfield attack and broke quickly, Swift played a sublime pass through the middle for Andy Williams to run on to and register his 18th league goal of the season.
