Melbourne V v CC Mariners
Finkler brace secures points for Melbourne Victory over Central Coast
Gui Finkler scored both goals as Melbourne Victory came from behind to defeat Central Coast Mariners 2-1 and keep the heat on A-League leaders Wellington Phoenix.
The Mariners were looking for only a second win in eight matches and were briefly on course to achieve that when former Victory forward Isaka Cernak headed them ahead after 32 minutes at AAMI Park.
However, Finkler had the teams level within eight minutes with a curling strike from outside the box and the much-travelled Brazilian then netted the winning goal 13 minutes from time with another fine finish.
Victory, who were without five players on international duty, are now a point behind Wellington with four games of the regular season left. Victory go to Wellington next week.
