Lamine Yamal fired a double as Spain cruised to a 4-1 win against Croatia in Seville on Tuesday to open up a three-point lead at the top of their Nations League group.

Yamal's early opener was cancelled out by Dion Beljo and, after Marc Pubill notched his first goal for Spain, the Barcelona forward struck his second before Nico Williams' late effort completed the scoring.

Four days after beating England 3-2 at Wembley, world champions Spain eased to another victory and extended their record-breaking unbeaten run to 40 matches.

Yamal scored inside two minutes in Spain's 3-2 win against England on Saturday and did so again against Croatia, despatching a low shot into the bottom corner after being picked out by Álex Baena inside the box.

Baena was then denied by Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic and in the 19th minute, Pau Cubarsi's effort from outside the penalty area flew narrowly wide.

Croatia had barely threatened before Beljo headed home Ivan Perisic's cross to equalise in the 28th minute, but the visitors were not on level terms for long.

Yamal this time turned provider as his cross following a corner was met by Pubill's close-range header to put Spain 2-1 up in the 31st minute.

Fermín López twice went close for Spain before the Barcelona forward's shot just before halftime struck a post.

Croatia carried more of a threat after the restart, with Marco Pasalic and then Beljo having efforts blocked.

But Spain doubled their lead shortly after the hour-mark when Yamal combined with Barca teammate Pedri to arrow a left-footed shot from a tight angle into the bottom corner.

Spain forward Víctor Muñoz headed inches wide and fellow substitute Williams was also off target before Croatia responded through Franjo Ivanovic's angled effort.

The Spaniards were still not finished though. Livakovic saved well to keep out Pedri's shot before Williams lashed home their fourth goal from inside the penalty area in the 89th minute after being teed up by Mikel Merino.
