Iain Campbell's free-kick 12 minutes from time gave Forfar a 1-0 victory over Montrose in the Petrofac Training Cup first round.In a game of few chances, Christopher Templeman came close to breaking the deadlock after an hour but he saw his header from Gavin Swankie's free-kick hit the crossbar.Jordan Reoch was penalised for a foul on Swankie in the 78th minute and Campbell stepped up to fire home the resulting free-kick.Templeman then saw his free-kick turned away by Jordan Millar, while at the other end Rab Douglas had to be alert to deny Scott Johnston three minutes from time.
