Racing Louisville FC, buoyed by the efforts of Bethany Balcer and Janine Beckie, edged out visiting Angel City FC 2-1 at Lynn Family Stadium on Saturday.

Balcer scored in the 26th minute to level the match after Meggie Dougherty Howard had given Angel City a lead in the 18th minute. Assisted by Ary Borges, Balcer's header from the center of the box found its way into the bottom right corner, and a VAR review confirmed the goal.

Beckie sealed the victory for Racing Louisville with a decisive score in the 68th minute. Her right-footed shot from the right side of the box beat DiDi Haracic to find its mark in the bottom right corner.

The lone score from Angel City came courtesy of Dougherty Howard's left-footed strike from the center of the box. Despite several attempts to equalize late -- including shots from Madison Curry and Messiah Bright in stoppage time -- Angel City couldn't break through Racing Louisville's defense again.

Katie Lund stood firm between Racing Louisville's posts, making four saves. Her counterpart, Haracic, also managed four saves.
