Mohamed Salah will have a street named after him in Turkey, where he plays for Trabzonspor.
The Mayor of Yomra Municipality, Mustafa Bıyık, confirmed via social media: "We take great pride in the fact that Mohamed Salah, the greatest transfer in Turkish football history, will be living in our district.
"With the council decision we will make this week, we will name the street where Salah's house is located 'Mohamed Salah Street.'
"We did what we could, now it's Salah's turn."
The Egypt superstar signed for Trabzonspor this summer after leaving Liverpool. He scored 257 goals in 442 appearances for Liverpool, winning the Premier League twice and the Champions League once.
Salah, now 34, scored two goals on his first start in a victory against Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Super Lig. But he also played on Thursday as Trabzonspor were thrashed 4-0 by Ferencvárosi, ending their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.
His contract with his new Turkish club is worth €17 million ($19.6m) per season, according to ESPN sources.
