Philippines women's national team captain Hali Long has signed with Brisbane Roar ahead of the 2026-27 A-League Women's season.
Long, 31, is the most-capped player in Philippines women's football history with 106 international appearances.
She started every match of the Philippines' run at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, when the team played Switzerland, New Zealand and Norway, and recorded their first World Cup victory vs. the co-hosts in Wellington.
Long, a center back, won her 100th cap at the 2025 SEA Games, and she is about to lead the team at the Asian Games in Japan.
"I'm excited to take on a new challenge in a new country and ready to push myself while helping the team reach its goals this year," Long said in a Roar press release.
"I can't wait to meet the girls and get started."
Roar head coach Johnathan Clemente said the team would benefit from Long's leadership and physicality.
"Hali is a genuine, proper defender," Clemente said in the release.
"She loves to tackle and head the ball in all circumstances, and she'll no doubt put her body on the line for Brisbane.
"A leader and legend of Philippines football as captain with 106 international caps."
Long began her career playing for Little Rock Trojans in the U.S., a team representing the University of Arkansas, before signing for Kaya-Iloilo in the PFF Women's League -- winning two league titles -- and then BGC College of Asian Scholars in Thailand.
She was named Thai Women's League MVP league MVP after leading BGC to an undefeated championship title this year, and has played in the AFC Women's Champions League for both Kaya and BGC.
