Kylian Mbappé said he wants to win the Champions League "more than anything" -- and that he'd prefer it to winning the Ballon d'Or -- after Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Inter on Tuesday.
Mbappé and Federico Valverde put Madrid 2-0 up in the first half at the Bernabéu, taking advantage of two defensive mistakes from Inter, before Carlos Augusto pulled a goal back for the visitors in the second half.
Inter dominated the game for long periods, but Madrid took all three points in José Mourinho's first European game back at the club.
"That's the objective, that's the goal," Mbappé told CBS, when asked about lifting the Champions League this season. "That's what I said yesterday about the Ballon d'Or, but the Champions League is even more important. I play for the club of my dreams.
"It's really important for me to win the Champions League here in Madrid, I want it more than anything. But of course the Ballon d'Or this year, I think it's a great opportunity. It's a good year for me."
Mbappé has been nominated for the men's Ballon d'Or after scoring 10 goals at the World Cup this summer as France reached the semifinals.
However he has failed to win a major trophy with his club since arriving at Madrid two years ago.
Last season, Madrid were eliminated by Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals.

"It's really early," he said, when asked about the team's prospects. "We just started the Champions League now, we started with a win. But of course we want to do special things.
"We want to be a collective, we want to be a team who can compete with all the best teams in the world. We know that last year was a bit difficult for us in the Champions League.
"At Real Madrid you always have to be at the top, I hope this year we'll compete as a collective, to be where we want to be."
