Liverpool missed the chance to build some momentum after two wins with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Fulham at Anfield.
The result means that the visitors -- who had the best chance of the game through Gonzalo García -- picked up their first point of the season.
- Andoni Iraola calls for Liverpool to start quicker in games: 'Everything looks easier'
Liverpool's season did not get off to the best start, as they snatched a 2-2 draw at Newcastle United thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai, before following that up with another 2-2 at home to Nottingham Forest.
Iraola's first win came a week later in the visit to Ipswich Town, with Alexander Isak having his best game so far for Liverpool, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes of a 2-0 win.
It was the kind of start which Iraola had called for more of from his side, although he didn't get it on Saturday against Fulham.
"Not conceding the two goals against Newcastle, not conceding the goals against Forest, and also when the goals come because I think we are not starting too well in the games," he said in a news conference ahead of the game against Fulham.
"We had the positive precedent of Ipswich and the games look much more comfortable when you start like this."
Fulham, meanwhile, had scored seven goals in their opening three games but failed to pick up even a draw in any of them -- a 3-2 defeat to Chelsea, a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland and another 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace last Saturday.
