Thomas Tuchel will focus on the positives in the defeat to Spain as England look to learn valuable lessons ahead of a "demanding" Nations League challenge in Czechia.
The wounds from their World Cup semifinal collapse to Argentina remained raw as the team returned to action at a sold-out Wembley against the side that lifted the trophy.
England made a nightmare start as Marc Guéhi gifted Spain star Lamine Yamal an early opener, but Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane gave Tuchel's team a lead that the skipper had a glorious chance to extend.
The Ballon d'Or favourite's penalty miss was capitalised on as substitutes Álex Baena and Mikel Oyarzabal struck, with Tuesday's trip to Prague offering the chance to bounce back from the 3-2 defeat.
Asked if England might look back at the frustrating Group A3 loss as an important moment on the road to Euro 2028, England boss Tuchel said: "Yeah, if we learn from it, if we take the positives.
"I think there's quite some positives to take away from [it] and we will try to do the review straight away [on Sunday] because there's not a lot of time and turnaround for the game.
"I think we will focus on the positives but also highlight the stuff that we can do better. Not even speaking about individual mistakes because, I mean, this is normal. It just happens.
"It should not happen and for sure not in this this amount, but there is no sense in showing now the individual mistakes or showing or telling them 'please don't do mistakes.'
"But we can do things better, we can defend the third goal better, of course, but we will focus on the positives. There's a lot to take away from [this].
"We wanted to be the team desperately to beat them. We think we had them. We still think we had them in half time and that was the way the team showed up after half time, so we will focus on that.
"But the reality is we lost and the reality is we need to prove it again against Czechia in Prague.
"Totally different match with different circumstances. We only have a two-day turnaround and to travel, so it will be demanding and challenging. Hopefully, we will look back and go step from step."
Tuchel says England "need points" following the setback against Spain as attention turns to Prague, where James Trafford will again start between the sticks.
The Leeds goalkeeper was surprisingly handed a first competitive start in place of long-standing number one Jordan Pickford, who will play in Croatia and the home fixture against Czechia.

"I think he deserved to get two matches," Tuchel said. "He started the Premier League season well, he gets minutes as number one in Leeds.
"Jordan did absolutely nothing wrong, but we want to use this competition to see how far actually James is in these two weeks, so he gets these two matches."
Trent Alexander-Arnold's role in the upcoming matches is less clear.
Injuries helped pave the way for his recall after 15 months out of Tuchel's set-up but the Real Madrid star was an unused substitute on a night when Jarell Quansah started at right-back.
"Jarell did excellent in the week, he was excellent for us in the World Cup, so he is at the moment slightly ahead," the England boss said.
"He didn't give his shirt away. It's not his shirt, he has to fight for it, but he came with a slight advantage into the camp."
