Roger Schmidt has started his role as Red Bull's new global head of soccer after replacing Jürgen Klopp in the post.
Klopp started with Red Bull in October 2024 but left this summer to take charge of Germany.
Red Bull have turned to Schmidt to fill Klopp's shoes, a role which Ralf Rangnick previously held.
Schmidt knows the organisation well having managed FC Red Bull Salzburg from 2012-14 before then taking charge of Bayer Leverkusen, Beijing Guoan, PSV and Benfica. He's recently worked as a global football advisor to the J. League but has now returned to Red Bull.
The press statement from Red Bull says Schmidt's role will see him lead the global soccer unit "with the ambition of building teams that develop the world's best young players and achieve success at the highest level".
"It feels great to be back with the Red Bull family," Schmidt said. "This environment is unique in world football, and it is the ambition behind it that makes it so exciting. I'm now looking forward to getting to know the people behind our clubs, understanding how they work, and building the future on foundations that are already strong."
Schmidt will help guide RB Leipzig, New York Red Bull, Red Bull Brangantino and RB Omiya. He will also spend time with FC Red Bull Salzburg.
