Manchester United bosses are assessing Lisandro Martínez's comments in the aftermath of the 2-0 defeat to Atlético Madrid before deciding whether to take disciplinary action against the Argentina defender, sources have told ESPN.
Martínez criticised United director of football Jason Wilcox during a bombshell post-match interview on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old said he "expected more" from Wilcox during the summer transfer window and that the squad is not strong enough "to be ready for this kind of night."
Sources have told ESPN club bosses discussed Martínez's comments on Wednesday, which was a designated day off for the players.
The squad is due to return to the club's Carrington training base on Thursday with Martínez set to find out whether the club will take any further action.
Martínez released a statement on Instagram on Wednesday seeking to clarify his comments, saying he "spoke out of anger and frustration at not getting the result we all wanted."
He added: "When I talk about wanting more, I'm talking about the ambition we must all have as part of this club. To keep growing, to become stronger and to have everything we need to compete at the highest level. These are standards we must all hold ourselves to, starting with me.
"I know that, first and foremost, it's us, the players, who have to deliver, and I put myself at the front of that responsibility. We need to demand even more of ourselves and work together to take Manchester United back to the top.
"I believe in my teammates, our manager and everyone working to help this club move forward. I'm convinced that the way forward is to keep working together, with ambition and commitment."
Wilcox, meanwhile, retains the support of United chiefs, sources have told ESPN.
He arrived at Old Trafford as technical director in April 2024 before making the step up to director of football in December in the aftermath of Dan Ashworth's departure.
Ruben Amorim was sacked as head coach in January after his relationship with Wilcox broke down. It's understood that minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who was key to Wilcox's appointment, is happy with his role within United's hierarchy.
