Liverpool have beaten Brighton 2-0 on Anfield to give Andoni Iraola his first Premier League win at Anfield as the Reds' boss.
The hosts made use of the first 25 minutes in which they were by far and away the better side to get their two goals -- the first coming from a Florian Wirtz strike that was inadvertently deflected home by Pascal Groß.
Just minutes later, Alexander Isak got on the end of a Bradley Barcola cross to make it two for the hosts, and after half-time, Liverpool defended well and never really let the Seagulls back into the game.
Here's how it happened.

Andoni Iraola's men return to domestic action on the back of a thrilling 4-3 victory over Villarreal in the Champions League, having recovered from a two-goal deficit to secure all three points in midweek. Alexis Mac Allister struck twice, with Ronald Araujo and Florian Wirtz also on target, while 18-year-old Rio Ngumoha provided two assists.
That result extended Liverpool's winning run to three matches in all competitions, following a 2-1 Premier League victory over Brentford where Alexander Isak got his fifth of the season in the top flight.
Brighton, however, will be looking to quickly move past an uninspiring goalless draw with Jablonec in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.
Fabian Hürzeler would much prefer his team play as they did last weekend, when they delivered a remarkable 5-0 demolition of bitter rivals Crystal Palace, a result which saw the Seagulls score three times inside the opening 10 minutes. Brighton took just four minutes to break the deadlock through a Jaydee Canvot own goal, before Diego Gómez produced an extraordinary contender for goal of the season.
Having spotted Palace goalkeeper Walter BenÃtez off his line, the Paraguay international unleashed an audacious effort from just inside the opposition half, sending the ball sailing into the net from approximately 51 metres.
A Brighton win today would keep them within two points of Manchester City and Arsenal.
