AC Milan bounced back from their humbling at Bournemouth to overcome Udinese 2-0 in Serie A on Sunday with Christian Pulisic opening the scoring for Ruben Amorim's side.
Although Milan were thrashed 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday, Amorim and company have found domestic matters much more to their liking.
Pulisic and Omari Hutchinson were on target as Milan made it 10 points from 12 to climb back up to fourth place.
Pulisic's United States teammates Weston McKennie and Timothy Weah also scored on Sunday in wins for Juventus and Marseille, respectively.
It was a sixth straight defeat for Udinese, who are now only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
Luka Modric was the architect of Milan's sixth-minute opener with a spot of quick thinking. The Croatia veteran dropped a free kick over dozing Udinese defenders, and Pulisic showed great control and excellent balance before sliding the ball past Maduka Okoye.
Davide Bartesaghi might have doubled the lead with an angled attempt, while Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan held long-range efforts from Mërgim Vojvoda, Jesper Karlström and Hassane Kamara.
Udinese breathed a sigh of relief five minutes before the break when Fikayo Tomori delivered a brilliant ball across the six-yard box.
Bartesaghi and Pulisic were perfectly placed to apply a telling touch, but they got in each other's way and the chance was lost.
Hutchinson, on loan from Nottingham Forest, grabbed his first Milan goal after 65 minutes. Okoye spilled Ardon Jashari's shot from 20 yards and Hutchinson pounced on the loose ball.
Gonçalo Ramos almost added another with Okoye pushing his effort on to the crossbar, before Udinese striker Keinan Davis passed up the chance to set up a grandstand finish as he failed to finish from eight yards.
