Three days after he left $8 million on the table to leave the Chicago Bulls, Dwyane Wade has signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wade, LeBron James' friend and former Miami Heat teammate, reportedly wanted to play for a contender and has spent time working out with James this offseason.
According to ESPN's Kevin Pelton
, Wade might ultimately make the Cavs less dangerous, though FiveThirtyEight's Chris Herring writes that Cleveland could make the 35-year-old young again.
Now, it's time for you to cast your vote on Wade's potential impact in Cleveland. Can he give the Cavaliers an extra boost toward beating the Golden State Warriors? And what's the best role for him in his new team's offense?
The Cavaliers met the Warriors in the NBA Finals for the third straight year last season, falling to Golden State in five games.
Wade posted career-lows in minutes per game (29.9) and field goal percentage (43.4) in 2016-17. His 18.3 points per game were his lowest since his rookie season with the Heat in 2003-04.
