Spin: Johannes is slated to remain with New York in 2026 after receiving a reserved qualifying offer from the Liberty in early April, but she isn't expected to join the team until next week, after the EuroLeague Women's Final Six concludes. Johannes averaged 6.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.3 minutes per game over 44 regular-season appearances (five starts) with the Liberty last season. She's slated to miss New York's preseason opener against the Fever on Saturday, but it seems likely that she'll be available for the start of the regular season, which begins May 8 against the Sun.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: An exclusive rights free agent, Johannes will remain in New York if the Liberty extend her a qualifying offer. If that's the case, Johannes should remain in a reserve role, as Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones are all expected to sign lucrative deals to return as the team's core. Johannes appeared in a career-high 44 games last year (five starts), but she averaged under 20 minutes per game for the third time in four years. When handed an expanded role, Johannes has shown the ability to be a solid fantasy contributor, but she's yet to consistently play major minutes. When she saw at least 22 minutes in 2025 (12 games), Johannes posted 10.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 stocks. The best thing for her fantasy value would likely be to sign elsewhere, but given her talents, New York will want to keep her around as a depth piece for a championship contender.
