News: 6 days agoSabally and the Liberty agreed to terms on a multi-year contract Saturday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Spin: Sabally earned her third selection to the WNBA All-Star Game in 2025 and finished the regular season having averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.3 steals over 26.6 minutes per contest. She played a key role in the Mercury's run to the WNBA Finals but was unable to play in Game 4 after being diagnosed with a concussion following Game 3. Sabally will likely be heavily featured in New York's offense while playing alongside the likes of Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Sabally spent the first six years of her WNBA career with Dallas before being traded to Phoenix in January of 2025. She saw her playing time dip significantly this past season (26.6 minutes per game) compared to 2024 (34.1), but she still averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 threes across 39 regular-season games in 2025. Sabally has had some issues with injuries over the last couple of years, including a concussion that prevented her from playing in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against the Aces, but that shouldn't impact her availability for the 2026 campaign. Sabally is an unrestricted free agent and should demand more money than the $215,000 she accumulated in 2025. However, her injury history and slightly decreased production could limit the pay jump she receives from the Mercury or another team interested in her services. While free to sign with any team, it seems likely Sabally will return to the desert in 2026.
