News: 4 days agoThe Liberty waived Griffin on Tuesday, per Jackie Powell of The IX Sports.
Spin: Griffin was limited to a pair of brief appearances before New York let her go Tuesday, so her absence shouldn't have a big impact on the team's rotation going forward. Given that she was signed to a hardship contract, Griffin's departure could be a sign that the Liberty are preparing to welcome Sabrina Ionescu (foot), Leonie Fiebich (overseas commitment) or Satou Sabally (cyst) back to the lineup soon.
