News: 18 hours agoCardoso was not at the first day of training camp Sunday as she completes overseas commitments, Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports reports.

Spin: Cardoso is finishing up her commitment with the Guangdong Vermilion Birds in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association, but she is expected to return for camp within the next few days. With the Sky beginning preseason action April 25 against the Mercury, it remains to be seen whether Cardoso will miss any time.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cardoso took a significant step forward on the offensive end in her second season with Chicago, averaging 13.6 points on 52.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 9.8 points on 52.1 percent shooting in her rookie campaign. The South Carolina product also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.4 steals in 27.6 minutes per game across 40 regular-season appearances (39 starts), though her defensive numbers dipped slightly in Year 2. Her role grew as the season progressed, with averages of 14.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks over 30.3 minutes per game across 22 outings following the All-Star break. She recorded 13 double-doubles last season and could see an even larger role in 2026 after Angel Reese was traded to Atlanta, but the Sky could also add to their frontcourt in free agency.
