News: 17 hours agoEdwards (thigh) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Liberty.

Spin: Edwards had 14 points and five rebounds across 17 minutes during the 83-78 preseason win over Toronto on Wednesday. However, a left thigh injury will keep the 23-year-old off the floor for the preseason finale. Her next opportunity to suit up will be Friday, when Connecticut opens the regular season versus New York.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: After a promising rookie season in 2024, Edwards struggled to begin 2025 and was traded to the Sun. With Connecticut in the midst of a rebuild, Edwards' playing time may be prioritized, but in 15 appearances with the Sun last year, she averaged only 4.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 17.0 minutes per game. This is an important year for Edwards' future in Connecticut, as the club has an option for 2027 before she'd become a restricted free agent in 2028. If she can carve out a starting role or play 20-plus minutes off the bench in 2026, she should be a solid pick in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts, but given her regression as a sophomore and Connecticut's offseason acquisition of Brittney Griner, Edwards is certainly a risky selection.
