News: 3 days agoLatson was selected by the Sparks with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday, Sara Jane Gamelli of BallisLife.com reports.
Spin: Latson was an impactful player over three collegiate seasons at Florida State, including the nation's best scoring mark with 25.2 points per game during the 2024-25 campaign. She transferred to South Carolina for the 2025-26 season and declined in most statistical areas due to a larger split of the workload, as she averaged 14.1 points, 3.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 28.1 minutes per game, but she helped lead the Gamecocks to the national title game. The Sparks have plenty of veteran guard talent in Kelsey Plum and Ariel Atkins, and Latson will likely have an opportunity to focus on developing in 2026.
