News: 2 hours agoThe Fever exercised their fourth-year team option on Clark's rookie-scale contract Tuesday.

Spin: While this is a formality, it ensures Clark will officially be under contract with the Fever for the 2027 campaign. The star guard is coming off an injury-plagued 2025 season in which she appeared in just 13 regular-season games, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 31.1 minutes per contest.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Groin and ankle injuries ruined Clark's 2025 campaign, limiting her to just 13 appearances. There was optimism that she'd be able to return for the stretch run, but the ankle problem Clark picked up during her recovery from the groin issue may have caused the Fever to err on the side of caution and shut down their franchise centerpiece ahead of the postseason. Although Clark's lack of availability may have been disappointing, her results on the court in her second season were superb. The 24-year-old superstar averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 31.1 minutes per game a year ago, which placed her in the top five in fantasy points per game, and Clark is entering the new year with a clean bill of health after representing the United States in the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament.
