No. 21 Oklahoma women beat No. 24 West Virginia 57-54
NORMAN, Okla. -- Peyton Little scored all of her 23 points in the second half and No. 21 Oklahoma rallied to beat No. 24 West Virginia 57-54 Wednesday night.
The Sooners (14-5, 5-3 Big 12) trailed 32-20 at the half and took the lead for good at 44-42 on Gabbi Ortiz's layup with 18 seconds left in the third quarter.
Little's layup pushed the lead to 51-44, capping a 13-2 run that spanned both quarters. Gioya Carter finished with 12 points.
West Virginia (16-5, 5-3) closed within 56-53 in the final minute. But Teana Muldrow missed a 3 that would have tied it with 27 seconds left. Jessica Morton made 1 of 2 free throws nine seconds later, Little made 1 of 2 foul shots to answer, and Morton missed a shot in the final seconds.
Muldrow led the Mountaineers with 16 points. Bria Holmes scored 12 and Morton and Tynice Martin added 10 each.
