Promoter Eddie Hearn has disputed the involvement of Dana White in promoting the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Fury and Joshua will finally meet on Dec. 11 in Cardiff, Wales, Turki Alalshikh announced Thursday.
A press release said the fight will be a partnership between Turki Alalshikh, Ring Magazine and UFC President and Zuffa Boxing's White.
However, Joshua's promoter Hearn, who has had a of words with White over recent months, said the UFC boss will not be involved and claimed he won't be at a news conference which is scheduled for next week.
"Even Netflix put out a press release [saying] the fight will be in conjunction with Dana White ... There's loads of battles to come on that because that ain't happening either," Hearn told iFL TV.
"Dana White cannot be involved with this fight promotion. Netflix clearly didn't get the memo. No one talks to each other. I speak to Sela and Turki: 'No. Dana White is not involved in the fight. You've got a contract that says that. He won't be at the presser ... Blah, blah, blah.
"Then Netlix say the fight is in conjunction with Dana White. Now we have to go through that process and deal with it. It's a little bit annoying but as I've shown through the UK battle that we won, we stand by our contracts."
The fight was set to be held in New York, with broadcaster Netflix preferring a venue in the United States to accommodate a global audience.
However, after a push from Joshua and Hearn, organisers have agreed to stage the event in Cardiff, with Joshua taking a pay cut to do so.
"Ultimately this fight belongs in the UK," Hearn told Matchroom Boxing's YouTube channel.
"Although I'm not the promoter of the fight, I would also ultimately get the blame if we took this fight to America.
"Don't get it wrong I love a few quid, and AJ's turned down a lot of money to keep this fight in the UK, but this is so much bigger than that. This is a legacy for sport in the UK."
