SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Quarterback Andre Broadous rushed for three touchdowns, Jake Romanelli ran for 115 yards and Mark Rodgers added 110 as Cal Poly rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat Central Oklahoma 44-25 on Saturday night.
After forcing a safety, the Bronchos (1-5) scored on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Sharp to Josh Birmingham late in the second quarter to take a 19-10 halftime lead. Sharp completed 30 of 50 for 290 yards and two touchdowns.
The Mustangs (2-3) scored on touchdown runs by Broadous and Deonte Williams in the third quarter to lead 24-19.
Central Oklahoma countered with a 43-yard drive, culminating in a 21-yard touchdown pass from Sharp to Matt Jackson regain a 25-24 lead early in the fourth quarter, but Cal Poly scored three more touchdowns, including a 51-yard interception return by Asa Jackson, to seal the game.
