NEW YORK -- Kyle Frazier threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Monmouth (N.J.) past Wagner 38-17 in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams.
Monmouth (2-1, 1-0) got off to a fast start. Frazier scored the first points of the game on a 13-yard run, and threw touchdown passes of 19 and 17 yards to Tristan Roberts and Lamar Davenport, respectively to help the Hawks take a 28-10 halftime lead.
Frazier completed 22 0f 28 passes for 138 yards.
Monmouth running back Julian Hayes scored on a 2-yard run on the last play of the third quarter, pushing the Hawks' lead to 35-10. Hayes finished with 103 yards rushing.
Wagner (0-3, 0-1) last scored on the first play of the fourth quarter, when Otis Wright returned a kickoff 89 yards.
With the win, Monmouth ties the all-time series against Wagner at 10-all.
