Late TD passes lift Jacksonville over Penn 34-31
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A touchdown pass from Kade Bell to D'Andre Randle with 39 seconds to play completed a fourth-quarter comeback that lifted Jacksonville over Penn 34-31 on Saturday.
It was Bell's fourth TD pass of the game and the first win over an Ivy League opponent by Jacksonville.
The final touchdown, with a 2-point conversion run by Ulysses Bryant, capped a 15-0 fourth-quarter rally for the Dolphins (2-1). Bell, one possession earlier, hit Bryant from the 7 to pull within 31-26.
Penn, making its season opener, led 31-19 going into the final period. The Quakers scored on their first drive when Alek Torgersen rushed from the 6. Adam Strouss made it 14-3 when he scored form the 1 late in the first quarter -- a drive that got new life when Jacksonville fumbled a punt reception. Penn gained 207 yards rushing with three TDs.
