The College Football Playoff is bringing the rapidly rising sport of flag football to the CFP's biggest stage, as it will be part of the 2027 national championship game festivities in Las Vegas, the CFP announced Monday.
The CFP is partnering with iFlag to launch the CFP Flag Football Showcase inside CFP Fan Central on Jan. 22-24 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, where men's and women's teams can compete in an open invitational across a range of divisions and ages from youth to adult. Teams will be guaranteed three games, including pool play and a single-elimination tournament.
"Every year, CFP National Championship weekend brings together the biggest audience of our sport's calendar, and we wanted flag football to be a part of that itinerary," said Ryan Allen Hall, senior director of public events and sponsorships for the CFP, in a prepared statement. "The CFP Flag Football Showcase is our opportunity to introduce fans who are already tuned in to college football toward what's next. There's no bigger stage we could offer these athletes."
CFP Fan Central is a free, family-friendly event that will also include games, clinics, pep rallies, special guest appearances, autograph signings and exhibits celebrating college football and its history.

Registration for the inaugural CFP Flag Football Showcase will open at 7 p.m. ET on Sept. 16.
