Penn State leading wide receiver Koby Howard is questionable for Saturday's Big Ten opener against Wisconsin after sustaining an injury in last week's win against Buffalo.
Coach Matt Campbell said Howard, a sophomore, got "dinged up" on a 70-yard touchdown in the second quarter against Buffalo. Howard led Penn State with three receptions for 115 yards, and added a 20-yard touchdown run.
He leads the Big Ten and ranks third nationally in yards per reception (28.7), and ranks fourth in the league in receiving yards (344).
"We don't know exactly where he'll be by the end of the week," Campbell said. "[Howard] went through a couple things [Monday] and just trying to gauge exactly where he is."
If Howard can't play Saturday against the Badgers, Penn State will lean on wide receivers Chase Sowell, Brett Eskildsen, Zay Robinson and Amarion Jackson, as well as productive tight end Benjamin Brahmer.
"I have a ton of confidence in that room," quarterback Rocco Becht said.
