With that the rain has got heavier and the players have made their way off with the Umpires not far behind them. It's going to be one of those days I'm afraid. Match State: Delay - Rain 12:30pm The rain has been falling pretty consistently over the last hour, and the groundstaff have just put more covers out in the middle. The Umpires are out inspecting the outfield,we have started losing overs... 12:50pm Bad news I'm afraid. The rain just keeps coming down and the Umpires have spoken to both Captain's. Even if the rain stopped now, there is no chance of the ground drying out before the cut off. The Captains have shook hands and the games been called off. What a shame. Two points for each team and let's hope that the rain relents for the second game this afternoon. Until then, this is Justin saying goodbye from a very wet Bready.

Good morning everyone, hope you're all keeping well today. It always feels like you wait ages for the Cricket Ireland Interpros to get going -- and then suddenly the games come thick and fast. Today we've even got a double header for you to enjoy.

My name is Justin Smyth, and I'll be with you all day, bringing you ball by ball coverage of everything happening out in the middle. We start with the Leinster Lightning against the Northern Knights, so settle in and relax -- it should be a competitive contest between two sides who always seem to bring out the best in each other.

The Lightning got their title defence off to a perfect start with a 20-run win over the hometown North West Warriors. They have George Dockrell to thank for that. Coming in at a time when the Innings was wobbling, he blasted the ball all around and out of the ground to hit a fantastic 50 off only 15 balls. The two wickets that he picked up helped in winning the player of the match. I'm sure that they will want to back this up with another win today.

A new captain for the Knights this year, with Matthew Humphreys taking the reins, and he looks to have a strong squad at his disposal. Two new additions in particular will interest Knights supporters. Reuben Wilson has made the move up from Dublin, and there's plenty of excitement within Cricket Ireland about his potential. Shane Dadswell brings valuable experience from franchise cricket in the SA20, adding power and know how to the middle order. Will this finally be the season when it all clicks for the Knights? Time will tell.

Looks like the weather is going to be a little iffy today. There has been a lot of overnight rain and even though the sun is out at the minute, the Umpires are going to be inspecting at 10:30am. The groundstaff did a brilliant job yesterday to make sure that the teams played, they might need to put more work in today. As soon as I've got an update, I'll let you know.
