Ravichandran Ashwin, Dublin Guardians Captain: I think we had it under control, and that's pretty much, I would say, the first half of the season, where we haven't known how to close games out, and a couple of wickets at the wrong time really cost us. We had it under control, and the chase was pretty much getting it down, but then we're losing wickets in those phases, about a couple or three of them at that point in time. There were instances there where we thought we could have been a little more clinical, that we were under pressure and should have managed it better today. But that's it, that's the score that we needed to get down, and we should be a little disappointed for not getting the score. On the positive side, the young players, especially, I think, have had a great couple of games. (Tector) has been working his way back from injury. That's not easy to do, about six months, probably a year. So that's a big thing for us. All these guys have done pretty well, and the locals have really held their own. I think it's about coming together as a unit, and we do have a lot of power on the season, and so on. We're getting better, slow wins, but we need to close our margins

Guardians just have not been able to stitch together a complete performance and find the winning formula. Once again, they had the game in control at the halfway mark when they were on track to chase the total but nobody from the top order capitalised on their starts. With the remarkable bowling options in the form of Boult, Curran, McMullen and Jarvis, it became so tough to keep up with the asking rate. Tector's wicket was a major turning point, as he could have definitely taken it much closer because Edinburgh were about 20 runs short of a competitive total. They left some runs out there but their potent bowling attack made up for it. Guardians are out of the tournament while Edinburgh tighten their grip on the top spot

2
Curran to Little, 2 runs, That's it for Guardians; they cannot progress to the next stage any longer as Curran follows his shimmy into the leg-side and bowls a dipping low full-toss which has been flicked to deep midwicket. Edinburgh remain unbeaten and continue their extraordinary form
19.5
1
Curran to Hollard, 1 run, Pitched slightly short and outside off, slapped to long-off for a run
19.4
0
Curran to Hollard, no run, Shows all his. buffet of variations, master of his craft, yorker just outside off, unable to lay bat on it
19.3
0
Curran to Hollard, no run, Another cunning change-up, back of the hand seam up delivery, early through the cut, doesn't connect
19.2
1
Curran to Little, 1 run, Hurls a shorter delivery and keeps it wide of off from back of the hand, pummels it to cover
19.1
W
Curran to Dockrell, OUT, Over the wicket, length-ish and wide of off, kneels and fetches it, slices the ball in the air and has been pouched at deep point; Jarvis takes a cool catch with the shades on. There goes the last ray of hope for Guardians

1
Jarvis to Dockrell, 1 run, Does well; punctuates the over quietly. Dug in short and outside off, rolls his wrists and forces it to deep square, 17 will be needed of the final over and importantly, Dockrell will have the strike and he will be swinging for the hills
18.6
1w
Jarvis to Dockrell, 1 wide, Shorter and outside leg-stump, wide signalled; he is under the pump
18.5
4
Jarvis to Dockrell, FOUR, Oh, follows it up with a four! That's more like it. Pace-off shorter ball coming at him, he waits a touch and then paint the boundary rope again at deep square, Curran wasn't deep in the crease and was running across deep square, not the bes of the efforts
18.4
6
Jarvis to Dockrell, SIX, There is still some life in this contest as this delivery has been pumped over deep midwicket for a six! Hits this shortish ball at off leisurely and clears the fence! Just lands over the rope. Still a glimmer of hope for Guardians
18.3
1
Jarvis to Hollard, 1 run, Hits a shortish length and keeps it tight at off, opens the face and nurdles it down to third man
18.2
W
Jarvis to Ashwin, OUT, He has a Test century to his name, bats well under pressure, heaps of experience of course. He doesn't want to die wondering, a shorter cross-seam delivery just outside off, he tries to tonk it downtown and finds Santner at long-off. Jarvis is on hattrick as the wheels continue to come off

Jarvis to Krishnamurthi, OUT, Over the wicket, fraction short and hovering in the channel, pounds it across the line but finds McMullen who was racing across midwicket takes a beautiful running catch; fine shot but just not able to hit it in the gap

Boult to Dockrell, no run, That looked wide too but the batter walked across his stumps in a bid to thwack it away and is beaten on the flashy drive
17.6
1w
Boult to Dockrell, 1 wide, second wide of the over, shortish and well outside the blue line on off, still a decent enough over, Guardians need a boundary on the last delivery
17.5
1
Boult to Krishnamurthi, 1 run, Pushed along the floor to long-on for a run
17.4
1
Boult to Dockrell, 1 run, Slower on a full-length and dancing across off, tries to heave it jauntily over long-on but it has been launched high into the sky and just lands in front of Gous who came a long way but it should have been Boult's catch however he remains stationary after his follow through, he thought Gous will make it
17.3
1
Boult to Krishnamurthi, 1 run, Low full-toss outside off, dipping outside off, squeezes it out to extra cover
17.3
1w
Boult to Krishnamurthi, 1 wide, Tries a wide yorker and is unable to keep it inside the blue tramline on off
17.2
1
Boult to Dockrell, 1 run, Wide yorker length and he shovels it down to long-off
17.1
4
Boult to Dockrell, FOUR, lots of starts but nobody going berserk and capitalizing. This has to be a big over. Over the wicket, on a full-length and outside off, he goes across and bets behind the line to smoke it downtown, just one bounce over the rope and bisects long-on and long-off to perfection

2
McMullen to Krishnamurthi, 2 runs, Terrific over, he is belting it but not timing it off the sweet spot, touch fuller and into the wickets, uppish shot towards long-on
16.5
2
McMullen to Krishnamurthi, 2 runs, Back of a length at middle, clears front leg and pummels it to deep midwicket, splendid diving save from Santner who swooped across long-on
16.4
1
McMullen to Dockrell, 1 run, Once again can only whack it away to Santner at long-on; it was a shorter ball at off-stump, not working
16.3
1
McMullen to Krishnamurthi, 1 run, Good length just outside off, waits and then clubs it down to long-on, ones and twos are not going to perturb Santner a wee bit, Edinburgh tightening the noose
