NBA game odds for December 21st are provided by Caesars Sportsbook, and fantasy advice is based on ESPN 10-team leagues.
Unders Aren't Fun, Just Profitable: We've got a trio of games tonight that saw the home team open as an underdog of fewer than four points (Thunder, Rockets and Timberwolves). Teams in such a spot have covered 55.1% of the time this season and that's nice, but the greater edge comes in betting the total. This year, under tickets have cashed 61.4% of the time in those spots, including each of the seven past instances in which the game was decided in regulation.
Backing Big 'Dogs: There are two games at the moment (could be more by tip) that feature a team that is getting more than five points in a game with a projected total north of 230 points, a spot that has proven favorable. This season, teams in such a spot are 26-21-2 ATS (55.3%) and unders are 29-20 (59.2%). Don't like the 'dog? Even better if you're angeling for an under ... unders are 15-6 in those games when the favorite covers.
Adding Onyeka: The Hawks have ruled out center Clint Capela for tonight's matchup against the Bulls, a move that shifts Onyeka Okongwu into an important role as the team's top rebounder against Chicago. Averaging nine boards over his past five games and with potential to produce blocks as the rotation's primary rim protector, Okongwu is a solid get at $4,900 on DraftKings and can be found in free agency in nearly 90% of ESPN leagues.
Duren Duren: We endorsed Detroit's Jalen Duren (86% available in ESPN leagues) as a solid streaming play against the Jazz last night and the rookie center tallied 15 points with 14 rebounds while missing just two of his nine shots from the floor. A recent shift to the starting lineup has him averaging nearly 30 minutes and pacing the team in potential and realized rebounds over the past six games. The 76ers are up next, a team that notably ranks 29th in rebounding percentage.
Mo in Orlando: The Orlando Magic have another "Mo" beyond Mo Bamba that is proving productive, as Moritz Wagner (90% available) has thrived since joining the starting lineup in place of an injured Wendell Carter Jr. earlier this month. Franz's older brother has averaged 14.6 points, 7.4 boards, 1.1 3-pointers, and 1.4 combined steals and blocks over his last 10 games and figures to start and play a sizable role again tonight against the Rockets.
Dallas Depth: The Mavericks won't have Dorian Finney-Smith or Maxi Kleber in the lineup tonight due to respective injuries as Dallas faces the Timberwolves in Minnesota. With sharpshooter Tim Hardaway Jr. no longer on the injury report, his shot-happy profile projects well in a matchup with a Minnesota defense allowing 44.9 DraftKings points per game to shooting guards over the past 15 games, seventh-most over this sample.

Best bet: Pacers +10.0. Both teams enter this game on two-game losing streaks with eight wins in their past 20 games combined. However, even though the Pacers have only won three of their past 11 games, they rarely get blown out. Indiana hasn't lost a game by more than six points in over 10 games. Each of their past six losses have come to presumptive playoffs teams and have been extremely competitive. The Celtics deserve to be favored here, but with the way they've played as of late, it's a stretch for them to give double digit points. -- Snellings
