Cole Palmer has said that Chelsea's attacking players are enjoying life under Xabi Alonso after they took the team's goal tally to 16 in five games under the manager with Wednesday's 6-3 win over Leeds.
The Blues stormed into the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge after Palmer led a quartet of half-time substitutions to help the team recover from two goals down.
A poor first half had seen the hosts' second string dominated by Leeds who led 1-0 at the break before adding a quick second.
That was the cue for Palmer to turn the tie on its head, reducing the arrears with a penalty, the first of three goals in six minutes for Chelsea.
Asked what was demanded of them by the manager at the break, he said: "Up the intensity, play a bit more, come more alive because I think the first half was flat. Everyone agreed in the changing room, so we stepped up.
"I probably haven't seen a half like that for a while. Leeds are a good team, tough game, but we needed to pull through and we did."
Chelsea lined up with nine changes from Sunday's defeat to Arsenal and the first half exposed a worrying lack of quality in depth.
Understudy goalkeeper Mike Penders made two impressive saves but then a costly error to hand Leeds their opener, conceding a needless corner from which Tarik Muharemovic headed in.

There was barely a flicker of a response from the Blues, who fell further behind when Brenden Aaronson slammed home at the start of the second half.
Alonso had sent on Reece James, Morgan Rogers and Pedro Neto alongside Palmer at the break and they quickly turned the game around, with two goals from Palmer and one from Neto to make it 3-2 before Danny Welbeck got Chelsea's fourth on the hour.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin briefly reignited Leeds' interest in the tie with a smart finish then Argentinian midfielder ValentÃn Barco scored his first goal for the Blues, with Welbeck heading a sixth in stoppage time, his third for the club.
"You can see I'm enjoying my football," Palmer said. "Me and Morgz [Morgan Rogers], João [Pedro] all the attacking players, we're enjoying it.
"We've still got a bit to go. We're getting results which is the main thing, and now it's on to Hull [at home] on Saturday."
