What do Dodgers OF Cody Bellinger, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton all have in common? They accomplished major feats in their respective sports immediately after attending a Jonas Brothers concert.
Nick Jonas coined the phrase "Jonas blessing" on "The Tonight Show" in 2021.
"The first was Cody Bellinger, who then went on to win the [2020] World Series with the Dodgers," the singer explained. "We had Patrick Mahomes, who in the 2020 Super Bowl won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. He came to a show in K.C. And then Lewis Hamilton, who surpassed the all-time [Formula 1] record, he went on to, after he came to a show, to do that.
"I was saying, 'We're going to have to start charging these athletes,'" he joked.
According to Nick, the Jonas blessing could possibly live on in 2026.
The Jonas Brothers are set to headline the halftime show for the Week 1 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia. Those two teams will be the latest to receive the honor -- sort of. But the youngest of the Jonas Brothers, a lead talent alongside comedian Kevin Hart in DraftKings' "Take Your Game Anywhere" campaign that launched on Sept. 2, told ESPN he has identified the next athlete to potentially receive the honor.
"[Cam] Skattebo came to our show in Newark," Jonas told ESPN. "He and his buddies came out and had a great time and [my brother] Kevin [Jonas] played golf with him the other day and was actually at the [NBA] Finals with [quarterback] Jaxson Dart and Skattebo. So I'm hoping that we'll get some of that for the Giants this year."
For Skattebo, the second-year New York Giants running back, had his 2025 season cut short due to a dislocated right ankle -- a bounce-back in 2026 seems to be the goal that Jonas and the Giants are hoping for.
Before Skattebo's injury, he played a big role in New York's offense. In eight games, Skattebo picked up 410 rushing yards on 101 carries with five touchdowns. He also had 207 receiving yards with two touchdown receptions.
Jonas, a lifelong Giants fan, is excited about the upcoming season.
"There's a lot of great storylines this year and I feel like there's a lot of young talent that's going to be fun to watch. ... I'm obviously biased, but Jaxson Dart is doing his thing," he said.
