CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians pitcher Nick Hagadone has undergone surgery on his left elbow and is expected to miss six to nine months.
Hagadone, a left-hander who had Tommy John surgery in 2008 while pitching in the minors, had Thursday's surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Florida.
Andrews said he repaired a fracture of the left medial epicondyle of the elbow in the area where the original surgery was performed.
Hagadone was 0-1 with a 4.28 ERA in 36 relief appearances. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 8 with a lower back strain. He began a minor league assignment on July 15, but felt pain in his elbow after facing one batter.
