The Atlanta Braves and catcher Tuffy Gosewisch agreed on a one-year contract for 2017 on Wednesday, thus avoiding salary arbitration.
Terms of the deal were not announced.
The 33-year-old Gosewisch hit .156 with three home runs and seven RBIs in 33 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks last season. The Braves claimed him off waivers from the D-backs on Nov. 18 in order to add to their catching depth.
Atlanta still has six remaining arbitration-eligible players.
