UFC bantamweight Raoni Barcelos has been discharged from the hospital, following a frightening incident at UFC Fight Night on Sept. 26 in Las Vegas.
Barcelos (22-6) posted the update on social media, along with a picture of him with his wife and son. Barcelos had been hospitalized since Saturday, after he appeared unresponsive and was stretchered out of the Octagon following a fifth-round knockout loss to Raul Rosas Jr. in the main event.
"Discharged and with my family," Barcelos wrote in Portuguese. "I want to thank everyone for the love, prayers and positive vibrations. God is our victory."
Barcelos, 39, has not revealed the nature of any potential injuries suffered. His coach, Davi Ramos, ruled out a stroke and heart attack in a social media video, but no further details have been released.
UFC CEO Dana White spoke on the situation on Tuesday.
"Thank God, he's doing well, walking around, talking," White said. "It goes right in line with everything I always talk about what we do. His prefight medicals were triple-checked, there were six doctors here that night, three ambulances, he was taken straight to the trauma center. Everything was done the right way and the outcome was good."
