News: 1 day agoWright rushed five times for seven yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Vikings.
Spin: Wright actually started ahead of Ollie Gordon, but Gordon ended up out-snapping Wright 22 to 12 and turned his nine carries into 100 yards and a touchdown. Gordon also saw two targets to Wright's zero. Wright figures to see a handful of carries each week alongside Gordon, but the latter is the preferred back for fantasy.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Wright will once again compete with second-year Ollie Gordon II for backup reps behind feature back De'Von Achane. Wright has barely cleared 70 touches during each of his first two NFL seasons, but he has shined at times, including a 24-107-1 rushing line in Week 14 last season. The 2024 fourth-round pick has been effective as a rusher, but hasn't been involved in the passing game (15 targets in 25 games). The 23-year-old would be worth adding only in the event of an Achane injury and even then, it's possible he would split (or be on the short end of a committee) with Gordon in a rebuilding offense that may not score very often.
